Visionary Electronics
designs and manufactures data acquisition
& control and data communications
equipment for the electric power utility and
telecommunications industries. With a
small staff of engineers that are dedicated
to serving these industries, we at Visionary
Electronics are proud of the innovative
products and services we have introduced in
the past and will continue to introduce in
the future. Our products incorporate
many unique features that provide our
customers with tools that are both powerful
in their application and easy to configure
and use.
Originally started in 1974,
Visionary Electronics was incorporated in
1982, when we introduced the Visionary 100,
the world's first modem-with-a-memory.
The Visionary 100 was used by our customers
to provide a link from their personal
computer to the Telex network. The
Visionary 100 was followed by the Visionary
1200, 1200XT, 1200B, 2400XT and
28.8XT. Each new product incorporated
faster modem speeds, more memory capacity
and more features.
In 1992 Visionary
Electronics entered the data acquisition and
control market by introducing the Mod 1
Mini-RTU (Remote Terminal Unit). The
Mod 1 was one of the first low cost
Mini-RTUs to be offered to the electric
power industry. The Mod 1 has been
followed by the Mod 2, the Mod 1-B, the Mod
2-B, the Micro-RTU, the Micro-RTU/Controller
and the Universal Protocol Converter.
Our products have been
proven to be reliable in harsh
environments. One of our first Mod 1
RTUs was installed in Death Valley,
California in 1995 where the temperature can
reach 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It is
still working perfectly.
